NEW GAME - BATTLE ROYALE

We're incredibly excited to announce that the Craftmaster's Showdown will be appearing as Battle Royale.
Here's how you play.

In Battle Royale, 16 players must gather resources to protect themselves and to hunt opponents in the Craftmaster's warped version of New Block City. Not only do you need to worry about your enemies, but you must also be mindful of the world border, which will shrink as the game progresses. Once you have fallen outside of the border you will begin to take damage.

Much like Crystal Rush, you can also make use of orbs and totems to advance yourself in the arena. These include:


  • 1RtC2NS.png
    Grappling Orbs

    Will latch onto whatever it lands on, useful for bringing an enemy towards you, or quickly traveling to a new location.​
  • NhgBxMl.png
    Bridge Orbs

    Will create a bridge of blocks in the direction you throw it.

  • XmTr3IF.png
    Cloud Totems

    Create a platform below you, preventing you from falling to the bottom of the map.
You can also place or break blocks to manouver your way around the map, but be mindful, you may only hold one stack of blocks at a time.

When all is said and done, the last player alive wins.

Server Updates
I am also glad to let you guys know that I have a few general server updates to share with you.
Light Strike
  • UPDATE: On-screen messages are now smaller.
  • UPDATE: Win reward reduced to 1500 credits.
  • UPDATE: Loss reward reduced to 1000 credits.
  • UPDATE: Credits per kill reduced to 500.
  • UPDATE: Starting credits reduced to 1000.
  • UPDATE: Healing arrows now Regen I for 4 seconds in a 1.5 block radius.
  • UPDATE: Spectral Arrows now apply glowing to nearby enemies on impact for 3 seconds in a 4 block radius.
  • UPDATE: Placing a S.T.A.R. will grant you 1000 credits.
  • UPDATE: Breaking a S.T.A.R. will grant you 1000 credits.
    BUG FIX: Sneaking or sprinting will no longer remove a player's glow.

Crystal Rush


  • UPDATE: XP is now awarded on elimination, rather than at the end of the game.
  • BUG FIX: You can now interact with trap doors.

Network


  • UPDATE: Added Battle Royale
  • UPDATE: Improved messaging for when entering a game queue.
  • UPDATE: Improved messaging for parties.
  • BUG FIX: Fixed various issues with game re-queueing.
  • BUG FIX: Fixed issues that would give nametags incorrect colouring.

I'm glad you added Battle Royale to Tubnet! Tubnet's biggest problem is it's lack of games, so hopefully this will help the server get more attention.

About the Lightstrike changes..... WHY?

I made a forum post here giving my opinions on the changes, but for the future please ask the community (or let us playtest the updates) before implementing drastic changes like those. It took me three games of playing with these new changes to understand exactly what I didn't like about them, and I think if you asked beforehand I could've told you it was a bad idea.

I made a forum post here giving my opinions on the changes, but for the future please ask the community (or let us playtest the updates) before implementing drastic changes like those. It took me three games of playing with these new changes to understand exactly what I didn't like about them, and I think if you asked beforehand I could've told you it was a bad idea.
Hi hi, I wanted to clarify some of the changes we made for Light Strike since this changelog only shows what we changed but not why we changed them.
  • We halved all sources of credit earnings because the economy got inflated too quickly, we want players to have restrictions on what their first or even second buys are, so their choices seem more rewarding. I know this may seem like we are lowering options, and some way it is, but we want the options that are available to be earned.
  • We also now grant players 1000 credits for placing/breaking the S.T.A.R. to incentivize the objective of the game rather than having a teams deathmatch. [Changelog forgot to post this part] This also means pushing for the objective will reward you the equivalency of two kills!
  • The Spectral Arrow changes is kind of underestimated and hopefully should be taken more into consideration when players are pushing and defending. Knowing where the enemy is before they do is very powerful if you take things slow.
TubNet is still learning how to make this game fun, so feedback like this is welcomed and always appreciated. I apologize if it seems that we aren't active in discussion within the forums, I'll personally try to improve that on my behalf. But I assure you I love this game just as much as the next guy and play it whenever I'm not working! Thanks again for the input :D

Maybe add a forum for battle royale under the games section?

Thank you for telling us your side of the changes and giving me a much clearer understanding why you made those changes. I was worried this server would be like some others where you have to hit your head against a wall to get your voice heard by anyone important. From your response I can tell you're passionate about the server (and everything else in this update is great) and I hope you can make this server a much more fun experience for the players!

I do however, still feel that this was not the best way to implement these changes, and I'll work on a thread detailing my thought process as well as giving more detailed feedback for the development team.
